Latin Name: Citrus Sinensis

General Description: A very nutritious fruit containing vitamins A, B and C. More sweet orange oil is produced than any other citrus oil. It has a lively, fruity, sweet aroma and is pressed from the peels. It is used to scent citrus, fruity and eau de cologne fragrances. The oil of the Sweet Orange is delightfully bright and cheery and strongly antidepressing. In Chinese medicine the orange peel is used to treat numerous ailments including anorexia and malignant breast sores. The oil is primarily used as a flavoring agent for both the food and beverage as well as the pharmaceutical industry.

How It's Made: The almost ripe outer peel is almost always cold pressed by hand or machine to produce the oil.  

Safety Guidelines: This oil is non-toxic and will not irritate or sensitize the skin. Orange, Sweet West Indian should not be used directly on the skin. The oil should first be mixed with a diluting or carrier oil.
