USAGE GUIDELINES FOR CONCENTRATED FLAVORINGS

For our natural flavor concentrates, we recommend that our customers follow these guidelines to get the most from our premium line of concentrated flavors. Our recommended starting usage amount for flavor concentrates is about 0.25% to 3% by weight in recipes. These concentrated flavorings are affected by fat, sugar, and bulking agent content, so a little experimentation may be needed to get the perfect flavor for your taste!

NEW TO CUSTOM FLAVORING CONCENTRATES?

You may find the following recipe for tailoring your flavor concentrates useful:
Begin with 8 ounces of water, and add 4 to 8 drops of 50% citric acid solution. Taste for proper acidity (orange or apple = more acidic; pear or banana = less acidic). Next, add 4 to 8 drops of our flavor concentrate, and sweeten to taste with Stevia Drops, Sweet Drops (AceK), sugar, or your preferred sweetener. Our flavoring concentrates are significantly more concentrated than our natural flavor extracts.

At Nature’s Flavors, our delectable, natural flavor concentrates are made with only natural plants and ingredients and never include any artificial ingredients, colorings, or unnecessary added sugar. Enjoy our flavored concentrates the way nature intended.

OVER FLAVORING YOUR PRODUCT WITH FLAVOR CONCENTRATES

There are many signs that you can look out for to tell if you’ve over-flavored your creation with our flavor concentrates. If, while using concentrated flavorings, you notice a minty taste on your palate or a medicinal taste, you have over-flavored your product. You may have over-flavored your baked good or culinary cuisine if you are burping the flavor up an hour or more after you have eaten the finished product. If the beverage has a strong smell, or if it leaves a taste of wax in your mouth, you've over-flavored it!

The trick to making a product taste good is to give just enough flavor to tease the taste buds without overdoing it. Reduce all quantities of the flavor concentrate of your choice by half (except water), and start over. This is only a starting point. Food flavoring is not only an art but also a science and requires experimentation and practice to achieve the results you are envisioning.

Nature’s Flavors is committed to helping everyone achieve great end results with all of our products, including our concentrated flavorings.
